SHANDON GOLF CLUB

Ihe annual meeting of the Shandon Golf Club was held last night, the president (Mr. G. H.-A. Swan) presiding over a large number of members. The improvement in the links, he said, moving the adopting of the report already published,had fully justified the expenditure. Bunkering woulcj be undertaken when the autumn rains set in.

The report and balance-sheet' were adopted.

The election of office-bearers resulted as follows:—

Patron, Sir Thomas Wilford; president,Mr. C' H. i Andrews; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. R. Kemball, A. W. Press, W. T. Strand, E. B. Vance, and P. C. Watt; club captain, Mr. P. J. Burke; hon. auditor, Mr. F. H. Mullens; hon. secretary, Mr. J. W. Fergie; hon. treasurer, Mr. F. C. Denz; committee, Messrs'. M. E. Bowring,F. C. Desmond, K. G. Hayward, and W. D. Murie. The following were appointed members of the selection committee:—Messrs. G, H. A. Swan, J. M. Ellis, G. Dennis, F. H. Bass, D: Isaac, B. Lippitt, N. H. Russell, C. T. Brown, E. McCarroll, W: Rodger, V. Haughton, and J. F. Taylor. :':... >

A motion of appreciation of the- work of Mr. Swan during his period of three years as president was passed by acclamation. ■ . .

The following members were automatically elected as officers of the Shandon Ladies' Club:—Club captain, Miss K. Pownall; lion, secretary, Miss E. ■ Hay-Mackenzie; committee, Misses Oughton, Levy, and Purdy.
