MIRAMAR CLUB
ENTRANCE FEES RAISED
There was an attendance of some 70 members of the Mirnmar: Golf Club at the annual meeting ' last' evening. The president (Mr. A. E. Mabin) presided.
The annual report (already published) was adopted.
The club captain (Mr. A. Marsden) said thaf they had got through' the year better Hian they Jind expected. The increase in expenditure was due to repairs and'painting. Subscriptions were down slightly, but the membership was now little different from that at the beginning of the year. ,
The election of officers resulted as- follows:—Patron, Lord Bledisloe; president, Mr. A. E. Mabin; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. Eiskine and U. V. MeCabe; captain, A. Marsdeu; auditor, Mr. E. A. Liddlecommittee, Messrs. D. R. Richmond, H A. Black, C. V. Sutherland, H. F. Toogood, H. E. Napier, and T. R. Lawson. The club captain said that last year subscriptions had. been reduced in order to retain membership, and that result had been' achieved, but now it was felt it was time to revert to the former subscriptions. Prospects were much brighter. It was not desired to flood Miramar with members who might take advantage of the easy ' terms for entrance, and they could well do with increased funds. The ladies' club had requested that their entrance fee be increased in any case, as it wns difficult to accommodate existing members on match days. He moved, pursuant to notice, that, the men's entrance fee be raised to £10 10s and the ladies' to £6 6s. This was seconded by Mr. D. R. Richmond and carried.
A vote of, thanks to the retiring members of the committee, Messrs. H. E. H. Aplin, J. H. Drake, and R. W. Scott, was passed for long services given to the club.
