SUPPORT OF PARENTS
A DEFINITE" APPEAL
A feature of the speeches made in the school "breakings-up" this year^ has been the appeals made by the principals for the definite and earnest support of parents in forwarding the efforts of the teachers of their children.
After having spoken of the health of the pupils at Marsden School in its ■various branches yesterday, Miss Mayhew said:—"While speaking of this may I Say that I wish I might have more sympathetic support from the parents in my efforts to keep epidemics from the school. Surely it cannot be doubted that any rules or regulations I make for that purpose are entirely for the safety of the children. That such rules arc beneficial has been conclusively, proved, and when' we Temember the serious Tesults -which in some cases' follow such epidemics it seems almost incredible to me that I should not have the wholehearted support of every father and mother. Yet mch has been far from the case." Miss Mayhew then added:—
' "'I-appreciate, and I think all.those parents.who have come into close contact with the school must also appreciate, the good work done by the staff, both in the school and in the Tiouse."
