RED CROSS CAFETERIA

HELPERS ENTERTAINED

Miss Susie Eagar, the lion, secretary of the Bed Cross Cafeteria at the Public Hospital, was hostess at a morning tea given recently to the cafeteria workers. Consistently throughout the year the helpers under Miss Eagar have attended day by day at the Cafeteria for the purpose of dispensing refreshment to'patients attending for treatment.

After a very delightful morning tea had been served; the secretary of the Bed Cross took the opportunity to thank Miss Eagar on behalf of the society for the work she and her helpers had done. In them was represented the true spirit of the Bed Cross, namely, concern for those in distress, and absolute dependability in their work. Since the cafeteria had been inaugurated in 1928 it had grown to be a very essential, part'of the Hospital service, as was evidenced by expressions of appreciation from, the Hospital Board, and more particularly the patients benefiting. The secretary stated that the society appreciated the warm-hearted co operation shown by the Hospital Board, medical superintendent, secretary, and house manager, without which it would be impossible for the cafeteria workers, however willing, to carry on. Mr. Labone, the house manager, also thanked Miss Eagar and her band of helpers.
