DALEFIELD CHEESE OUTPUT
(Special to the "Evening Post.") CARTERTON, This Day. The annual report of the Dalefield Cooperative Dairy Company states that during the season the company exported 858 tons of cheese to Great Britain. The average price realised per cwt was 47s 4d for cheese sold to date. The exchange premium received was worth 6s per cwt, bringing the price realised up to 53s 4d per cwt. The average weight shrinkage was 2.38 per cent. The total amount of milk received was 19,556,8391b, containing 706,925.511b of butter-fat, with an average test of 3.614 per cent. The recovery of butter-fat from whey skimmed was equal to 4.861 per cent, of the total butter-fat received for eheese^making. Advances amounting to £25,868 12s 5d were made to suppliers during the season, equal to 8.782 d per 1b for butter-fat received. The 3076cwt of cheese unsold has been estimated at a gross average sale price of 50s 6d per. ewt. Should this estimate be realised it would enable the directors to make a further payment equal to 2.237 d per Ib of butter-fat, making a total of- lid per Ib for the season, after providing for the payment of 3 per cent, interest on paid-up share capital. A payment at the rate of Id per Ib butter-fat for the month of January, and 2d per Ib for the months of February, March, April, May, and June was made at the annual, meeting en milk received during those months. Messrs. F. Brazendale and G. Sadler were re-elected directors, and Mr. L. J. Fail-brother was elected to the directorate in''place of Mr. A. 0. Abbott, who resigned. . . . Mr. R. J. Chapman was reappomted auditor, and Mr. R. Bassett was re-elected chairman of directors.
