FOR THE MISSION FUND

A COSTER AIR SHOW

Members'of the Wellington Aero Club joined wholeheartedly in the planning of the-Coster Ball and other means for helping along the fund for the Wellington City Mission,;and on Satuaday they staged a bright coster afternoon at the Bongotai aerodroriie. It- was a "free gate" afternoon, but the fund benefited nevertheless. Club members and officials wore "pearlies," and the donkey barrowmen were out in full force, "parade" in this instance being synonymous with "collection/

The programme was opened by a bombing demonstration, and was along the lines-of. previous-afternoons at Eongotai, including the spectacular dog fight between Coster; George Bolt and Club Captain Coster Waite, «razy flying by Mr. Bolt, and ■ a splendid ■ exhibition of stunting by. Mr. Waite,. markmansbip (quite a good take-down for.those not in the know), a six-lap race between a car and a Moth (the aeroplane being handicapped on the turns), and so on. The club's passenger machine was kept busy in,flights over the city the whole afternoon, and'a good many who had bought 'tickets for flights could not be accommodated. These tickets will be accepted next weekend. ■ • ' -
