S. JARVIS'S SWIMMING FEAT

(By Telegraph.)

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

DUNEDIN,

This Day

When S.vd. Jarvis', the New Zealand junior boys' champion, broke Noel Crump's 220 yards junior swimming record by covering the distance in 2min 30 3-osec, he put up one of the best efforts of his career, having regard to the lateness of the season. Jarvis did the first 100 yards in 04 4-ssec, and in view of the "way he is developing his finish and style, he should make things very interesting in the intermediate ranks next season in opposition to his brother' Walter and the Aueklander Noel Crump. Syd. Jarvis is a very powerful swimmer with no perceptible lift ou', of the water, and when it is stated that his latest time is 33. 1-osec faster than what he was doing a year ago his improvement is illustrated. Syd. Jarvis is the; holder of all the junior boys' records, and is the junior champion at the Otago Boys' High School, his brother being the senior champion.
