Page, S.M. : , ' _ A remand until Wednesday was granted in the case of George Albert Edwards, amotor, engineer, aged 31, and Phillip Condon Brazier, a labourer, aged 20, who were charged' with' 'stealing tobacco and cigarettes valued at £44 5s Id, the property of some persons, unknown. Both the accused elected trial-by jury, and it was indicated by counsel that they intended to plead not guilty. .-■...-,,' ' John Ritchie, a motor-driver, aged 22, was remanded until Wednesday or. a charge'of stealing a ring valued, at £5. Sydney Resteaux1 and John Sweet were each convicted and ordered .to' pay costs for having dangerous dogs. Fines of £2 in each case were imposed on Colin Stafford Clark, Colin Waugh, and William Henry Roberts, who were charged with^ being found unlawfully on licensed premises after hours. Percy Wingroye was fined £1 10s for being in possession of an unlicensed radio set. Patrick Montague Jackson and Robert Scott were each fined £1 for similar offences. For failing to clear ragwort from land Harold Francis Walker jvas fined £5. v
