SYDNEY TURF NOTES
RECOVERY OF MIRAMOND
(From "Vedette.") - SYDNEY, March 31. Miramond, who bruised a foot just after his return from Melbourne, is now commencing to work along again. The short spell would be of no harm to-him. Other members of J. T. Jamieson's.team in Closing Time, Panjandrum', and Prestige, all look -well. .Prestige,1 hi-particular, appears a much-improved filly. Forestry is bigger and brighter at present than at any other stage. Some little time ago he .was physicked and his improvement since has been remarkable. H. B. Lorigan should win a good race at the big meeting- for Mr. V. E. Riddiford with him. . . ' Frimsel is commencing to pick up again after going off a little subsequent to her return from Melbourne. The dividing of raoes under the new arrangements is providing1' some queer amounts. For the three divisions of the Flying Handicap at Kensington on Wednesday, the first prize was £55 lls Id, second £11 2s 2d, and third £5. lls Id. ■ Two notable stallions are t,6 be ottered at auction in New South Wales next month. They are Silverado, the sire of Silver Scorn, and Brazen, one of the best sires in Australia. Brazen is being sold by order of the executors of the estate of the late Mr. H. C. Rouse. Mr. J. J. Leahy, owner of Silverado, is conducting a' dispersal' sale. Asked recently to put a price on Silverado he quoted just £5000.M. McCarten's term o£ idleness erids this week, and he will be back in the saddle at Rosehill next Saturday. He has hardly been idle, for no jockey has ridden more track \york during the past two months. .
