CAPETOWN REPEATS.
j _ln the three-horse Miki Miki Hack Hanmcap, Capetown repeated his first day's performance almost to the letter His apprentice rider,: W. E. Shand, took : him to the front within the first furlong and though Lyrical tried more than once to pull him back he held his advantage al- ]^ y u ?f fe- SP und 4 idl not draw the whip till half-way.down the straight, when Lyrical and Kalmuk were on his quarters, and Capetown then drew away again to beat Lyrical by a length and a half, Kalmuk being only a neck away third. a Capetown,has now won three races, and is advertising his sire, Cape Horn, as a getter of promising staying horses. It was also Shand's third winner, the other two having been on the first day of the meeting. Shand rode his horse to perfection, and with little experience is likely to climb among the first ranks of apprentices. .
