Midnight-Echo, who finished close tip fourth,-made the running to the straight'two or three lengths clear of Manuin, then the latter went up to him and had hiSi measure at the distance, but he could not stall off the winner. Balloon, always orithe rail in third place, looked like scoring when he came with his challenge half-way down the straight, tmt he did not see a promising effort through, and was half a length back third at the finish. Black Mint went another fair race, covering additional ground and fifth. . ...
