DEFEATS DAVIS CUP STAR

SYDNEY, This Day. Vivian McGrath, who has had a sudden rise to fame in the tennis world, defeated E. F. Moon, the Australian Davia Cup player, in the Australian tennis championships at Adelaide, 6-2, 6-4, 1-0, 9-7.

Dr. McElhone, writing to tho "Herald," says that this fifteen-year-old lad must now be classed as one of the first four leading players in Australia.

Patterson, Hawke?, Hopman, aud Cuinmings, who witnessed the sensational match, are definite that McGrath should accompany the Davis Cup team.

V. McGrath, the . remarkable boy, player, was recently beaten by J. Crawford only at a score of 7-5, 7-5. According to the ox-New Zealand champion, A. C. Stedman, who recently returned from a visit to Australia, McGrath is considered possibly the most promising player that Australia has ever possessed. E. F. Moon won the Australian singles championship in 1930, beating both Crawford and Hopman, and toured with the Davis Cup team that year.
