FINLAND'S DECISfON
PROHIBITION VOTED OUT
HELSINGFORS, 31st Lecomber.
Finland, after twelve years' experience of Prohibition, overwhelmingly voted by referendum, in favour of th'a return <jf liquor ■ licences. Enormous crowds cheered the figures outside the newspaper .offices, and hotels and: restaurants flew flags in honour of the result.
Students toured the city in motorcars, giving tots of whisky to all and sundry, including constables, who, a few days ago, would have arrested the offerers.
Waiters themselves offered drinks to customers in restaurants, the crowds* toasting New. Year's Eve.
