Canada reduced her unfavourable trade balance from 103,018,000 to 7,500,000 dollars during the last calendar year. It is estimated \>r the Dominion Bureau of Statistics that if the same preponderance of exports over imports continues, the fiscal year ending next March will record a favourable balance. , , Already for the first nine months of the, fiscal year a favourable trade balance, estimated at 22,463,000 dollars; was recorded.' : During the calendar year imports j totalled 628,788,000 dollars (with Decomber estimated). Tho corresponding i figure a year ago was 1,008,479,000 dollars. Exports totalled 619,288,000 dollars, as compared with 905,461,000 dollars a year ago.
