MR. HEALY'S POSITION
INDEPENDENCE ON
RAILWAYS

BLENHEIM, This Day.
Mr. E. F. Healy, Coalition candidate; for Wairau, addressed a very large Blenheim audience; A section subjected the candidate to considerable interjection, and it was the liveliest political meeting for some years.'
■ Mr. Healy defended the Coalition anddeclared: that a vote for an Independent was equivalent to a vote for Labour. The, whole issue was between: the Coalition and Labour.
He announced that despite Coalition endorsement, he retained complete independence in 1 regard to railway construction, having a distinct understanding with the Prime Minister on this subject.
Mr. Healy was accorded a vote of thanks.
