MANY THEFTS
Two years ago Eric Alexander Forrest came out o£ the Borstal Institution after spending, three years in it. Since then he committed a series of thefts, and yesterday, in the Magistrate's Court at Lower Hutt, he pleaded guilty to six charges of theft- of miscellaneous articles and money, to the total value of £34 11s. He was sentenced by Mr. W: HJ Woodward, S.M., to two years' Borstal detention on each of four major charges, and was convicted and discharged for two minor offences. The sentences are to be served concurrently at the expiration of a sentence of three months' imprisonment lie is at'present ' serving far unlawfully converting a car. According to Defective M'Lennnn, the defendant was n carpenter, aged 21, and had.taken most of tlie articles from weekend baches in the vicinity of Upper Hutt. An order- was made for the return of the stolen property to its owners.
