Offering a third, share in the Makara Bay Fishing Company, John Hartland Pearson "obtained £250 from Clarence Foon, -by representing that ho w ; as authoris6d to act on behalf of tho two partners in the company. When he was charged at the.Magistrate's Court yesterday with obtaining money by false pretences,. Pearson pleaded '_ guiltyj and in a statement to the police admitted that the representations he had made to Foon .were false,. Pearson also pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing £15 from Maurice Frank Judd.
' The Magistrate, Mr. E. Page, committed tho accused to the Supreme Court for sentence.
