(By Telegraph.) (Spotial to "The Evening Post.") DUNEDIN, 29th October. Cabinet has authorised the OmakauJjauder irrigation scheme. The scheme means the construction of a dam at Manuherikia Palls, and it will irrigate an area of about 12,000 acres in the vicinity of Lauder and Omakau. It is understood that the navvying "work is to bo done by married men who wero employed until recently on the South Island Main Trunk railway construction.
