RURAL CREDIT
LOANS IN WAIRARAPA
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") MASTEETON, This Day. A total of 31 loans have been granted fcince the formation of the "Wairarapa Co-operative Eural Intermediate Association in October, 1928, the amount lent to the borrowers being £14,960. Two of the loans have been paid off and there remain 29 loans in operation, the total of which has been reduced by repayments to £11,316 9s sd. The annual report states that there aro 50 individual shareholders in the association holding 2005 shares. Sincct the inception of the association no shares have been transferred or surrendered. The work of the directors and secretary-treasurer is continually increasing, owing to the need of periodical roviews of the terms of repayment rendered incumbent on account of the drop in borrowers' incomes due to the financial stringency. The existing directors arc Messrs. A. Eoss (chairman), C. C. Jackson (vice-chairman), K. Groves, J. M. Laing, and S. J. Smith (District Public Trustee and Supervisor of Eural Credits). Mr. Jackson will retire from the directorate by rotation and wishes to be relieved of office.
