According to the latest news from Cyprus, the Kyrenia disturbances were allegedly instigated by the Orthodox Bishop of Kyrenia'. Reinforcements from Egypt arrived this morning and hurried to Limassol, where a mob attacked and burnt the police station and destroyed the property of loyalists. The situation is tsnse in many districts. Further rioting took place at Famagusta and the police fired, killing one and wounding three. Numerous arrests were made, including the Communist leader, who was urging the overthrow of the British.
