OLD GIRLS' REUNION
A most successful reunion of Chilton House Old Girls took place recently at Chilton St. James,. Lower Hutt, when old girls from many parts of the country attended. Commencing with a dinner, the evening proved a most interesting one to all tb.e members.. Tlie dinner tables were decorated with bowls of hydrangeas and red' berries, and were waited on by the present girls at Chilton St. James. Posies of flowers were presented to Miss Fitzgerald and Mre. Vickery! (president), and one was sent to Mrs. Henry\ Smith. ..:':-:'-i-:. Later a business meeting was held in Chilton Hall, when the election of officers for the ensuing year took place. Mrs. Smith, who was absent through illness, expressed in a letter to the secretary (Miss E. Danby) deep gratitude to Miss Fitzgerald for placing a room at the disposal of the old girls, and also for attaching the name of the sistor school to her own splendid school. A letter from Miss Freeman was also read. Mrs. Vickery welcomed all the old girls, and expressed regret, at the resignation, of the secetary, Miss Danby. Miss Danby reported that the biggest effort during the year was a jumble sale, which realised £26, £4 of which was sent by country members. This money was donated to the St. Barnabas Babies' Homo. Old girls had also contributed cot covers for tho home. Books and magazines had also been contributed to the Ewart Hospital, and on. Anzac Day, a wreath had been laid on the Cenotaph. Recently a sandpit had been installed at the Berhampore Free Kindergarten as the result of £23 15s which the association had contributed. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mrs. Vickery; vicepresidents, Mrs. A. Luke, Mrs } L. Clay, and Miss D. Isaacs; secretary, Miss Dorothy Davies; treasurer, Miss Wardell; country secretry. Miss E. Marshall; and the committee elected is as follows: Mrs. Murie, Mrs. Robinson, Mrs.. Clay, and Misses Danby, M. Ellis, M. Myers, N. Anderson, N. Cfarnond, L., Findlay, E. Rennie, E. Talbot, and A. Davies.
Mrs. Vickery warmly thanked Miss Fitzgerald and her staff for the way everything had been arranged.
