Mr. and Mrs. Lan Macßae, Wairarapa, are the guests, of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur.Duncan, Murphy street, for the races. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Ward, Heretaunga, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. MaeEwan, Fitzherbert terrace, this week. . >* Mrs. Colbsek and Mrs. Valentine, Auckland, ajre the guests of Mrs._ Colbeck's sister, Mrs. Vivian Eiddiford, "Woburn," Lower Hutt. Miss Nancy Grace .(Wanganui) and Miss Ruth Pharazyn (Hawkes Bay) are the guests of Mrs. Guy Williams, at Heretaunga, for the races. Mrs. and Mrs. C. M. OUivier, "Glenelg," Murray Aynsley's Hill, Christehurch, are staying at Hotel St. George for race iweek. Mr.' and Mrs. Colin M'lntosh, West Eyreton, have returned south after a viait to Wellington. Mrs. and Mrs. J. Wesney, Palinerston North, who have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Wilson, Murphy street, for a few days, have returned home. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wright will leave Wellington • to-morrow by the Maunganui for a trip to Tahiti. Mrs. H. D. Epbertson has returned to Wanganui after a visit to Wellington. Miss R. Wilson, Christehurch, has arrived in Wellington for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Hannon, Oamaru, are visitors to the North Island. Miss Z. Bright, who has been visiting England, returned to Wellington last week by the Rangitata. • Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Clarke, Brougham street, will leave Wellington by the Maunganui to-morrow for a trip to Tahiti. Miss C. Stewart arrived in Wellington this morning by the Maunganui from Sydney. Miss A. Stephen, Wellington, is a visitor, to Christchureh. Mrs. C. Young (Christehurch), Mrs. L. G. Hardie (Whangarei), Mrs. C. E. Blayney ( Sydney), Mrs. W. Mansfield (Liverpool), Mrs;. R. R. Marsh (San Francisco), and Mrs. C. B. Ahl (Dayton, Ohio)-are guests at Hotel St. George. ' ■ Mrs. H. M. Gore has been elected a lifo member of the Wellington Horticultural Society, the first lady to be so honoured. "Mrs. Gore" (states the society's annual report) "has been one of the -workers.of the society almost since its inception, and still holds office and takes a keen interest in its work."
