SOLD EAST
KAMONA AND KAITUNA Two more of the Union' Company's ships, in the Kamona and Kaituna, have been sold' East, the purchasers being Williamson and Co., shipowners, of Hong Kong. The company is represented by, Captain S. T. Williamson, who is arriving in Wellington by the Makura on Monday to complete the purchase and make arrangements for taking the ships to the East. . ■•''■. .Captain Will ir«n soil's company has bought a number of ships in the past from the Union Company, the Kaitangata, Kaiupoi, and Kalno being sold last year for service in the East. The Koromiko, Karori, Kittuwa, and Whangapo are other .ships that Williamson and Co. have previously purchased from the Union Company. Tlie iiaituna and Kamona are both very well known around the New Zealand coast. Tho Kamona has been laid tip at Port Chalmers and the Kaituna at Auckland. The Kaituna, whiih !has a gross tonnage of 2012 tons, was built. in 1904 by Osbourne, Graham, and Company, Sunderland. The Kamona, of 1425 tons gross register, w. s built in 1001 by the Grangemouth and Greenock Dockyard Company.
