THE CLOTHING DRIVE
(To the Editor.) J Sir,—l will be 'glad if you will grant me j space to thank all those who so ablyassisted with the clothing drive in Lower Hutt on Saturday. Due entirely to the splendid response_ of the householders, the whole-hearted assistance of some 60 car-owners, and the help of 60 Scouts and High. School boys, backed by the good team work of my executive, 2300 parcels of clothing, estimated to contain 16,000 garments, valued at approximately £1600, were collected in a little over two hours and handed over to the Lower Hutt branch of the lved Cross Society for the relief of distressed families in the Lower Hutt. To ail those who contributed in any way and to the car-owners and drivers, and the boys who gave up their Saturday afternoon sport in a good cause, I wish to tender the very sincere thanks of the executive of the Lower Hutt Chamber of j Commerce, the organisers of the drive.—ll am, etc., A.
