WAGES ADJUSTMENT
(To the Editor.) j Sir,—Your condensed report of the | Arbitration Court's 'proceedings on Saturday does not give my reply to Mr. Bishop's table of figures which purport to showthat wages increased after the 1922 cut. The method adopted by Mr..Bishop was to give the total wages paid to 70,000 employees in 1922 and the total paid to 80,000 in 1925. Mr. Bishop challenged my figures, in another connection, but when the matter was referred to the Government Statistician he confirmed the fignre I had used. This also was not reported. T think it only fair to say that your paper did devote a considerable amount of space to reporting; both sides, for which j I personally would like to thank you and ! the reporters.—l am, etc., J J. M'COMBS. !
