NATIVE DROPS DEAD

TE AWAMUTU, This Day
After crossing the street and stepping, on tho footpath in front of the Commercial Hotel at midday, a middleaged Maori named Poi Hakana Jackson dropped dead. Medical aid was summoned, but life was extinct.
The deceased was a prominent mem-| ber of the Mahuta Tribe, and was popular amongst both Natives and pakehas. Jackson, who leaves three sons, was a j successful farmer in the Parawera district. • ' .
