LODGE MEETINGS

The fortnightly meeting o£ Esther Kebckah Lodge, i.0.0.F., N.Z., was held recently, Sister J. Tahiwi, N.G., presiding over a good attendance. After a motion of sympathy had been passed to relatives of the late Bro. J. Nind, P.D.D.G.M., lodge routine was proceeded with. Correspondence was received and various accounts were passed for payment. A challenge from Maraenui Lodge for the Cribby Shield was accepted. A letter of sympathy was sent to the relatives of the late Bro. M'Peak, Grand Lodge Trustee. The report of the finance committee was adopted. Lodge business concluded, a social took place. . The regular meeting of Ngatitoa Lodge, No. 143, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held at Porirua last Monday, the Noble Grand, Bro. J. Philip, presiding over a large attendance. The financial secretary presented the quarterly return, which was adopted, and quarterly accounts passed for payment. The District Deputy Grand Master, Bro. G. P. Rudkin, P.C.P., and district officers installed the officers for the new term, as follows:—N.G., Bro. W. Little; V.G., Bro. G. W. Hughes; recording secretary, Bro. R. Wi Neera; financial secretary, Bro. C. M. Sloane, P.G.; treasurer, Bro. E. E. Hook, P.G.; warden, Bro. T. J. Hardy, P.G.; conductor, Bro. E. Vickers; chaplain, Bro. A. J. Hook; R.S.S., Bio. J. E. Herlihy; R.S.N.G., Bro. J. Halcrow; L.SN.G., Bro. Colgate; R.S.V.G., Bro. W. G. Ireland; L.S.V.G., Bro. E. J. C. Smith; 1.G., Bro. W. J. Schoch, P.G.; 0.G., Bro. T. Mepham. After the installation ceremony the D.D.G.M. presented Bro. Sloane with a Past Grand's jewel, on" behalf of the lodge. The following committees were elected:—Audit Committee, Bros. W. Little, H. J. Rowney, P.G., and J. Philip, P.G.; sick visiting committee, Bros. W. Little and G. W. Hughes; standing committee. Bros. W. G. Schoch, P.G., W. Little, C. M. Sloane, P.G,, G. W. Hughes, and J. Philip, P.G. Bro. R. Wi Neera, recording secretary, was appointed Press reporter. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Bro. J. Nind, P.D.D.G.M., was passed, the lodge standing in silence. Bro. Eudkin conveyed fraternal greetings from Grand Lodge and lodges of the Auckland district. Praternal greetings were also conveyed by representatives of Southern Cross, Zealandia, Cleveland, Wildey, Heretaunga, Bellevue, Maraenui, Onslow, Otaki, Kupe, Ngati-Awa, and Pyramid (Wanganui) Lodges. The fortnightly meeting ot Loyal bister Wallis Lodge, Manchester Unity, .was held recently. Lodge honours were accorded a visiting sister from Loyal Crood Intent Lodge, Auckland, and also_ brothers from Ncwtown, Kilbirme, Britannia, and Petonc Lodges. One candidate was initiated. Lodge closed early to enable members to join in the first social of the season. Prizes in the '"Monte Carlo were won by Sis. Johns and Bro. Harper. Bro. Shennan, N.G., presided over the recent meeting of Loyal Antipodean Lodge, Manchester Unity, when therewas a lair attendance. A report was received on the recent half-yearly card night, loresters v. Oddfellows, which was won by the Foresters, 40-36. Bro._ Coleman P.G., gave a report on his visit to Hawkes Bay, dealing with the state ot the lodges there. He stated that the whole of the books of the Napier Lodge were burnt, and the secretary is appealing to all lodges who may have Napier members on their books, asking that their names and addresses be forwarded on, thus assisting the lodges to prepare a new register. Bro. G. Eead, P.D.G.M., on behalf ot the lodge, presented Bro. E. Berry, P. 0., with a framed P.G. emblem. Lodge honours were accorded. ... . At a recent meeting of Loyal Ji-iloir-nie Lodge, Manchester Unity, Bro. Brass, ,NG presided over a large attendance. The lodge received the first combined visit of city and suburban lodges,_ ot which there was a large representation. Bro W. B. Brown, D.D.G.M., accompanied by Bro. E. W. Guise, D.S., aud members of the management committee, were received with, lodge honours, to which Bro. Brown suitably replied. The D D G.M. installed Bro. J. Wiley, the D.D.G.M., assisted by Bro. A. 0. Blair, PDGM., making a presentation to him on behalf of the lodge. The presentaion took the form of a tea** for Mrs. Wley and a smoker's companion lor Bro. Wiley. Lodge honours were enthusiastically accorded. Bro. Wiley feelingly expressed thanks for the manner in which the lodge had recognised his services.
