RUGBY MATCH RESULTS

(From Our Own Correspondent.) NELSON, .18th April. The rccriil: flood in the Golden Bay district caused less loss of live stock than was at first anticipated. At an executive meeting of the Motueka District Fruit Exporters' Association, called to obtain an expression of opinion with regard to pooling in relation to Nelson direct loading, it was resolved that iii the opinion of the association all fruit for direct loading at Nelson should be in a separato pool from the general pool. » The weather was beautifully fine for the opening of the Eugby football championship competition to-day. At Trafalgar Park, Eivals, contrary to'the general expectation, defeated Pirates, the country team, by tho good margin of 14 points to 6, after leading all through. For the winners, AA restley, Goodman, and Boyce scored tries, the first of which was converted by Kinzett, who also knicked a penalty goal. For Pirates, Max scored and Newman goalcd from a penalty. Mr. A. Croucher was the referee. " At Richmond, .Nelson defeated AVaimea by a narrow margin. The rusults were:—Senior: Eivals 14, Pirates 6; Nelson 6, AVaimea 3. Junior: Old Boys 23, Eivals 3; College 13, AA'akatu 11. Third class: Old Boys 16, College B 6; College A 31, Eivals 0; Walcntu 5, Nelson 0.
