FASTER AIR SERVICES

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, 25th March. As the result of permanent agreements with Italy and Greece and the introduction of faster flying-boats in the Mediterranean Imperial Airways have arranged to speed up both their England-India and the newly-opened Central African air mail services. Beginning on 16th May it is hoped to discontinue the present route across Central Europe, and passengers and mail will travel via Switzerland, Italy, and Greece to Egypt. From Cairo, which is the junction of the Indian and African air routes, the Indian air mail will travel by land 'plane via Bagdad and the Persian Gulf to Karachi and Delhi. A speed-up'will be made on this section by the introduction of partial night flying^ and passengers and mail will arrive at Karachi five days two hours after leaving London.
