NO PACT WITH LABOUR

CLOSER CO-OPERATION

'Received -otli Rlnivli, 11 a.m.)

LONDON, -'Itli March. A secret meeting of tlio Liberal "shadow Cabinet" decided against a pact with the Labour Party, though co-operation is likely to be slightly closer than hitherto.

MEASURES ON MERITS

(Brlllal) Official Wireless.)

(.Received 25th March, 11 a.m.)

EUGBY, 24th March,

Mr. Lloyd George last night met the Liberal ex-Ministers to discuss the futuro attitude of tho party in the present Parliament. No report was issued, but it is understood that Mr. Lloyd George outlined a policy which ho will place before to-day's meeting of the Parliamentary party.

The newspapers state that tho declaation will indicate nothing in tho way of a formal pact with Labour, and if tho full party meeting endorses Mr. Lloyd George's statement the Liberals will determine their attitude to Government proposals on their merits and reserve full liberty of action.
