The Nationalists hail . the AustroGerman Customs Union as tho first step, to complete union, but Government circles emphasise the nou-politieal character of the agreement, and claim that it does not involve tho violation of the Peace Treaty or the Protocol. It is estimated that the pact will extend Germany's internal market 10 per cent., thus giving a tonic to industry.
