N.Z. GOLF COUNCIL
A special meeting of the council of the New Zealand Golf Association was held last week to meet representatives of the Chiistehurch Golf Club and discuss details in cmuicc.'Uon with the time-table, etc., for the New Zealand championship meeting. The time-tiiblc was eventually decided iij.on as follows,.this being a slight alteration from what was previously arranged:— Open Championship, Thursday and Friday, loth and 16th October; Amateur Championship Foursomes and Professional Championship Foursomes (36 holes), Saturday, 17th October; first round of the Amateur Championship, Monday, 19th October; second and third rounds of Amateur Championship, Tuesday, 20tli October; the O'Roike Vase Teams' Match, AVednesday morning, 21st October; fourth and fifth rounds of Amateur Championship, Thursday, 22nd October; semi-final of Amateur Championship, Friday, 23rd October; final on Saturday, 24th October. With regard to restriction of entries, it was decided Unit all professionals who are members of a recognised professional golfers' association may compete. As regards amateurs, the entries will bo limited to the lowest handicap amateurs who enter in equal number to the professionals who have entered, but in no case shall there be less than twenty amateurs accepted. If necesrary, the last places IV umateurs will be drawn by lot.
