HUTT AND INSTITUTE.

Biggar and Ross opened Hutf.s finst innings on the HuU Recreation Ground at 225 p.m. Both went cheaply (the second wicket fiillins for 28). to be replaced by M'GiiT and Warnes. Good hitting by M'Girr had sent the lotal to 51 when Warncs was- dismissed for 3. Aldersley joined il'Girr, and they scored freely. The partnership was broken by the dismissal of Aldersley for 34, the runs put on for that wicket numbering 99. M'Girr continued steadily, and was caught by Hankins off Henderson, one short of his century. He had hit seventeen fours. Birch made 25, and the total was 196 at his dismissal. The tail was very weak, the last three wickets falling for 8 runs, making the final total 204 at 4.D0 p.m. Bilby did most of the bowling, and took five wickets for 66 runs.
