AN INDIGNANT LETTER
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Bay. Strong- exception to the tone of a letter from the Auckland Headmasters' Association, referring to the delay in the appointment of headmasters to the Kowhai and Otahuhu junior high schools, was taken at a meeting of the Auckland Education Board. The letter traversed the steps taken by the board in coming to an agreement as to the applicants to recommend to the Minister of. Education for his approval. It concluded: "This association considers that tho board has, by its actions, shaken, the ' confidences of members of the teaching profession in it as a suitable body to control appointments to the service. It considers the time is ripe for the establishment of a professional body to control and make appointments on the professional side.' ' After discussion in committee it was decided not to receive the letter owing to the language in which it was couched. ■
