WOMAN STRUCK DOWN
KIT WITH IRON BAH
ASSAULT NEAR CITY
Attacked by a man a few minutes after 6 o'clock last evening as she was leaving the Fever Hospital on Mount Victoria, Mrs. Isabel .Northcotc, of I'h-ic street, was struck on tho head with n Jlat iron bar. Members of the hospital staff came quickly to.her assistance, but when they arrived tho man -had disappeared. Mrs. Xorthcote, who received a lacerated wound ( ou the scalp, was taken to Wellington Hospital, Where she is reported to-day to bo making good progress. Mrs. JNorthcote, an employee at the Fever Hospital, was on her way home when the assault took place. The attack is regarded as strange, because her assailant made no attempt to rob her. After she was admitted to the Hospital, Mrs. JN'ortheotc was interviewed by detectives. Police officials were not propared to make any statement when interviewed by a "Post" reporter today. • *
