STATEMENT BY BISHOP
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBOENE, This Day. Tho Bishop of Waiapu states that the Napier telegram in reference to the position of the churches is not accurate. A proposal has been mado to Greet a temporary building to hold from 400 to 500 people, but it will cost a good deal more than the amount stated (£500). No plan has yet been formulated for the erection of a permanent cathedra], the mention of ten years beiiig purely guesswork. In. regard to the diocesan buildings, flu; cost will run into thousands, but tho survey is not yet complete.' St. Augustine's has not yet lieon repaired, and is very far Crom being fit for use.
