PROSPECTS FOR BOXING DAY

Most of the horses engaged belong to the district, but there are a few acceptors from outside centres. Yoma, however, is reported from Stratford to be in great fettle, and his trainer (J. Butler) did not accompany Seatown to Auckland; but will be at New Plymouth to see his old favourite run. Fayoßrites are likely to be The Swell-Belle Sta^T bracket and Marjoram. . . . of attention are Ridgemount (with whom Belle Star, if started, will be bracketed), Te Atiawa, Chief Link, and Green Linnet. Bonogne has also been working well lately, and is a possibility, and so is Gold Dawn. The best performances may be returned by Te Atiawa and Chief Link. Horses who should race well in the other events are:—Huatoki Plate: Crennatown and Chief Savage. Borough Juvenile Handicap: Royal Routine and Tradesman. Rahotu Hurdles:' Royal Damon and Evening Hero. Stewards' Hack Handicap: Gowanlea and Tentcall: Atiawa Cup: Spearform and Monalof. Tikorangi Hack Stakes: Orapai and Royal Routine. Riding engagements are as follow:—J. M.
