(Special to "The Evening Post.") CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Most of tlio Riecarton horses to race at North Island meetings have gone, and this morning's work was confined chiefly to horses engaged in. southern and West Coast meetings. These will be leaving during the next few days, so that training work for the holidays is now practically over. G. Murray Aynsley galloped his team on the plough. These four horses are in capital condition and leave on Monday night for Dunedin and Waikouaiti, where' the prospects look very brightJ Spoon should be a good winner on the trip. Mcprisant failed at Kiccartou last month, but should make amends soon. D. O'Connor will ride this team. Spoon went well over seven furlongs in lmin 31see. Meprisant pleased greatly over a mile in lmin 43 2-ssee. Footfall did a mile and a quarter in 2min 15sec. Kakara ran six furlongs ia lmin 17 2-ssec. Sleipner ran six furlongs in lmin 17sec, and should win sprints on. the West Coast. Amorist did seven furlongs in lmin 34sec. He looks very well for the southern hurdle races. Ramo and Solwit did a useful seven furlongs and should pay their way on the Coast. Compris beat Invictus over six furlongs in lmin 17sec. Compris looks like otic to follow in the South. W. Stone worked on the plough^ j

Painkiller doing six furlongs in lmiu 17 2-ssec, while Lord Thomond and Sight Draft did working gallops. These three and Tray Bond leave for the North to-night. All except Sight I Draft may open tho trip at Waipukurau, while tho four will race on thu second and third days at Manawatu, and then at Marton. Tray Bond ia j backward, but the others "look well, i Lord Thomond and Painkiller, in particular, should show up. Giggleswick did a trifle better than Kapina over, seven furlongs on the grass, the last six fuvlongs taking lmia 17 2-ssec. . . ■Ringing Cheer sprinted half a mile in 50see. These three, with Charmeuse and Sleipner, should do well oa tho West Coast. : Topere, Appeal, and Sapient all .worked freely. They leave on Monday for Duncdin. Sapient will then go to Invercargill, and the other pair will probably go to Waikouaiti. They should earn some money for Donovan's stable. Beau Goste did useful work with a short sprint. He looks well for'the West Coast engagements. Homecoming easily beat- -Fresh Breeze over six - furlongs in lmin 18 l-ssec. Homecoming should pay his way at southern nfeetings, where Mima and Troilus may accompany him. ' Miss Mereia did six furlongs on' tho grass in lmin 15 3-ssec. Pangolin beat Gay Nita over, five furlongs on the grass in lmin 3 4-ssec. The hurdler is very well at present. H. Cutts leaves to-night -with- Full ! Feather, Ball Dress, Straighteourse, j Sharp Thorn, and Porlock. Ho found it necessary at the last minute to leave Owlsflight home on account of his developing a cold. Ball Dress took- his place, but will race only at Wairarapa, while tho others are all engaged, als9 at Manawatu. Without any stars, this is a, good team, all with prospects of earning money. Haze struck himself a few days ago and will be unable to run .during the holidays. ■'..■' It is reported here that.A. E. Ellis may rido Concentrate in the Auckland Cup, though nothing is arranged yet. H. Young arrived from the North this morning, and will ride at .West Coast meetings. ,
