HAWERA NOTES
(By Telegraph.) (Special io "Tho Evening Post.") HAWERA, This Day. Splendid conditions prevailed this morning for the winding-up gallops. The plough track, used for fast work, was in first-'elass order. J. Brown's pair for Auckland had a final work before leaving, demonstrating that the trainer has them in firstclass condition for their big jobs. . Awaken had Silver Rule as companion for half a mile, and finished well, easily holding the mare in 50^sec. Silverraine and Chief Link hopped off at tho five-furlong peg, and ran tho first quarter in 24sec. Silvermine always had the situation in hand, and finished the better in lmin 2see. Orby's Choice traversed five furlongs in a tick under lmin 4sec. Coalbag and Goldzone raw home the last two furlongs of a working gallop in 27sec. Calamine, Peg Black, and Bonogne were associated over seven furlong's. They ran together to the half mile in 51sec, and finished in lmin 33sec, Calamine slightly in front of Peg Black, and Bonogne a couple of lengths back. Paitonu, with Mcndip on tho lead, was given road pace work. Biilex and Anbridge sprinted four furlongs in 51-isee, finishing together. Tentcall did a working gallop. Joy Spear, Garrick, and Gasnapper galloped from the six-furlongs mark, running the first half mile in 51see, and finished well in lmin 18sec, Joyspear and Garrick together a length and a half in' front of Gasnapper. Gowan Loa, Banbridge, and Kissless did useful pace work. This trio galloped yesterday morning, the two first named finishing in front of Kissless over six furlongs in lmin 17 3-ssec. Bright Glow and Green Linnet have both had to be eased up a bit and were only exercised lightly. Green Linnet is only slightly sore. Isa was allotted pacing exercise only. Vauclcusc (Cook) and Goblin Market (Tucker) went a fast round over the schooling hurdles, both jumping better than last time they were schooled. On tho outside of the course proper the two-year-olds Paparua and Snmmertime, sprinted four furlongs in" 52sec. Tenacro (Grindly) and Homewood (Mills) gave an exhibition round, jumping clean and fast.
