Most of tho gallops were dono on tho course proper, where poles were placed 40 feet out from the rails. I wont seven furlongs. The best times established by sprinters were those of Hunting Day, Boyal Tea, Tentenden, and Autopay. On the course proper Lady Para was first to work, and ran six furlongs in linin 18 4-ssec, Capo Gold assisting her over the last five furlongs, which were traversed in linin 4see. Eager Eoso ran the last six furlongs of her work in lmiu 18 3-ssec, doing it well. Hunting Day completed a half-mile sprint in 49 3-osee. Love Song got to the end of six furlongs in linin 19sec, finishing on well. Ka-rangapai and Leasehold were together in front of Creina's King after completing six furlongs in. lmin 20 o-ssuc. The Kail way Handicap candidate, Tcnterdeu, ran half a mile in 49 3-osee, doing the work nicely. Star Stranger and Cylinder began from the old mile post and finished up the last. seven furlongs of their task in lmin 31 3-osec. There was very little between them at the finish, Star ■Stranger going in good style. Tctrachate and Foot Kulo van five furlongs in lmin 3 4-osec, practically together. Gay Crest and Sir Mond jumped off at the mile vjost, and, after running the first half in 51 3-osee, finished up in lmin 44sec. Gay Crest pleased better, being a length and a half in front. Koyal Teg, displayed a lot of speed over five furlongs, which he covered in ! lmiii 3 2-ssec. Ho went particularly well. Grecian and Appledoro were on terms ! over six furlongs in linin 21 2-ssec. j Brampton, Imperial Prince, and Tambourine finished together over a mile in lmin 55see. Titanettc was a shade in front of Spcedfast over four furlongs ia 51 4-5 see. 1 Praetor was In front of Kafflight over five furlongs in lmin 4sec. . Merry Lu was allotted a seven-fur-long tusk. She ran the. first three in 39 3-ssee, and completed the task in lmin 35sec. Count Palatine and Vertigcrn jumped off: at the seven-furlong post, running thn first three furlongs in. 38 4-osec, and the full distance'in lmin 31 4-ssoe. Count Palatine, who had the better of tho weights, was going much easier at the finish. Neil and Alloy were together after running four furlongs from a flying start in 51 4-ssec. Koyal Baby had Autopay as a companion over three furlongs, which took 3Ssec. They were on terms at the finish. ' After breakfast, Steady Fire was in front of Llanore over sbc furlongs in lmin 18 3-ssec. Steady Fire went well. The best gallop was credited to Nightmareh (B. Bced), who began from the mile post. With Bennie to assist him, he ran the first furlong in 13 l-ssec, three furlongs in 38see, and reached tho half-mile post in 50 3-osec True Shaft joined in at this stage, and Nightmareh and he. finished together. The time for the^mile was • lmin 42 1-osec, the last four furlongs being covered.in 51 3-ssee. Nightmareh galloped very evenly throughout, and was going particularly well at the finish. Bennie was eased up over the last part. Gay Idea and Bizarro ran three furlongs in 39 4-ssoc and six furlongs in lmin 20soc. Gay Cockade (M'Eae) was sent over a mile and a quarter with Glenhaupo to assist him over tho last half-mile. He ran the full distance in 2min 17 2-ssee, the last round in 2min 7.2-ssec, the last seven furlongs- in lmin* 34sec, and the final half in 52scc.
