SPECIAL TEAM TICKET

GHRISTCHUECH PEOPOSAL

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A . proposal that a one-day ticket, available over all lines and costing Is 6d, should be issued for a trial period of two months was made to the Tramway Board by Mr. T>. Sykes. Tho board decided to hold over the matter for a week in order that information concerning the operation o£ similar tickets iv Auckland and Wellington could be collected. The board is also to consider a proposal to reduea Sunday fares.

Wellington has never had a one-day; ticket of the type proposed in Christchurch, and tried out in Auckland, but a fortnight ago there was introduced a' special Sunday concession ticket at OQ9 shilliug. This ticket is available for. the day between any two termini, say; from Karori to Seatoun, or Wadestown, and Island Bay, and return. Though, the new ticket is not yet well knowa to passengers there is a. fair and growing demand for it, and during the beach! season —when the weather at last'turns to bathing weather—it will probably; be much used. Auckland had a Is Gd one-day ticket, but recently decided to cease its issuo as it was being abused. Theoretically these tickets were not transferable,'but in fact they were passed round the family or among friends, oven among office staffs, and everyone rode far and often, all for one shilling and sixpence.
