SIR JOHN FINDLAY

TWO EXCELLENT PORTRAITS

A fine painting of the late Sir. John Findlay, K.C.M.G., K.C., has been presented to the Legislative- Council by Lady Findlay, who recently returned from England. Sir John Findlay was Leader of the Legislative Council from 1906 to 1911, and a member of the House of Representatives from 1917 to 1919. The painting shows Sir John in full figure. It was executed by Sphinx, the well-known London artist. Lady Findlay has also presented to the Supreme' Court library a painting of her late husband by B. S. Clouston. Both paintings are an excellent likeness and are fitting reminders of Sir John Findlay's notable work in the Legislature and at the Bar.
