RED CROSS ACTIVITIES
A meeting of the Wartime Executive of the Wellington Centre of the New Zealand branch of the British Red Cross Society wns held yesterday. Present: Messrs. D. J. Clark, C.B.E. (chairman), H. Rose, A. H. Bath, S. F. Wright, and G. Shirtcliffe, and Mrs.- H. Rose. Apologies for absence were received from the Hon. Dr. W. E. Collins, C.M.G., M.L.C., Mrs. Herzog, and Miss Low. It was decided to accept the tender of £63 18s by H. N. Maunder and Co. for the rewiring o£ the building, subject to the City Council's approval. A report received from the secretary ot the Napier sub-centre stated that the operations of the carpentry instructor had been discontinued on the recommendation of the medical officer, owing to lack of interest on the part of the patients. The secretary (Mr. M. S. Galloway) reported that the presentation of awards to members of the Peacetime Division would take place at the Town Hall on 10th December. The treasurer's statement showed a balance of £9519 Is lid. Accounts amounting to £205 8s 4d were passed for payment. ,
