PETONE-HUTT GAS BOARD
The monthly meeting of the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board was held last night, Mr. W. G. Lodder presiding. There were also present Messrs. E. T. Hogg, D. Truscott, AV.-G';-Meidrum, and S. Clendon. .''•■■' The works manager reported that during October .'lsVs tons of coal had been carbonised, giving 10,102,000 cubic feet of gas, the average make per ton being 14,130 cubic feet. The increased manufacture over October, 1929, was 1,225,000 cubic feet, and the average calorific value for the month was 4738.Th.U. coal, tar, and coke in stock on Ist November were estimated to be 854 tons 15cwt, l(i,700 gallons and 10 tons respectively. The distribution report for October stated that there were installed 34 new services, '40 cookers, 8 coppers, and 8 caliphonts. The new governor for the Belraont district had been installed during the month,- and . was giving good results. A distinct increase in pressure was being maintained during the peak load hours. .
