WANGANUI MURDER
TEIAL OF MANLEY
BEGUN IN SUPREME COURT
(By Telegraph.—Press. Association.) WANGANUI, This Day. A true bill was recorded against Herbert Frederick Mauley for the murder of Gladys Barriugton Cromarty, and the trial commenced. - Mr. W. E. Bain appeared for the Crown, and Mr. J. Treadwell and Mr. B. C. Haggitt for the accused.
A considerable amount of timo was taken up in submitting plans of the Cromarty dwelling by Norman Annabell, civil engineer. Dr. Adams gave evidence about the condition of the body.
Dr. Lynch, pathologist, said that he examined a shirt (produced in Court). There were bloodstains on the left cuff. These were tested and proved to be human blood. Splashes of blood on tho trousers also proved to be human blood. He also examined the knife (produced) which showed smears on, the handle, and these were human blood.
