COMBINED SCHOOLS' CONCERT
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —In view of tho widespread appreciation accorded to our combined schools' conceit on Friday evening last, I should like- through tho Press to acknowledge- publicly tho able assistance afforded by many teachers in preparation of individual classes for tho big choir, and by tho conductors of the five school orchestras from Wellington College, St. Patrick's College, Mt. Cook Technical College, Eongotai Boys' College, and Hutt Valley High School. I must also pay a very special tribute to Mr. Ernest Jennor, who not only rehearsed certain sections of the choir, but provided those ingenious and musicianly accompaniments to which the success of our evening owed inoro than most people realise. .Further, I have to thank those friends ■who stage-managed and marshalled tho juvenile army, and assisted in other Ways," also the grown-up soloists who entered so happily into the spirit of # t.he evening; and lastly, nil tho young performers themselves, whoso infectious delight in the music could not fail to communicate itself to everybody.— l. am, etc., .15. DOUGLAS TAYLBE.
