GUILTY OF PERJURY
FATHER AND SON TO BE SENTENCED (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, 13th November . A verdict of guilty was returned by a jury ]n the' Supreme Court this morning in the case against Patrick O'Donnell for perjury. Mr. Justice Kennedy announced that he would not deliver sentence until Monday, when the son of accused, who pleaded guilty to a similar charge, will also be sentenced. Accused, who pleaded not guilty, was charged with falsely swearing as follows: "I am quite certain my car was not dut of the garage on the night of 12th April, 1929. My son Joseph was not out of the house that night; neither lie nor the car was in Invereargill that night." . The case arose out of charges preferred against accused and his son Joseph of driving a car without a tail-light in Invereargill on the night of 12th April. When the case was first heard in the lower Court accused and his son denied that cither Joseph or the car was in town on the night iv question, but at a rehearing of the case at a later date Joseph O'Donnell pleaded guilty and was fined.
