POST OFFICE REPORT

Tho Acting Secretary, Goueral Post Office, advises that radio communication was established with . Karamea last night. The following report has been received from tho postmaster, Karamoa: — "The auxiliary schooner Fair burn has been weatherbound in Karamea since 19th Juno. The Corbyvale Settlement will have to be permanently evacuated. The Settlers' Committee met to-day; all matters affecting the earthquake are being handled by that body. A number of refugees are evacuating by boat when possible. All local telephone communication has.been restored, and we hope to get into communication with Little Wanganui to-morrow."
