The game between Wesley aud Y.M.C.A., played at Karori; was full of surprises, but finally resulted in a win for the former team by five goals to three. Wesley opened well, and about three minutes after the bully, Butcher netted with a good ball from the corner of the circle. After that Wesley suffered severely, Edwards and Drew scoring for V.M.C.A. in quick succession. A fine effort by the V.M.C.A. forwards enabled Edwards to break through in the centre and score their third goal before half-time. At that stage the final result almost seemed a foregone conclusion, but Wesley rallied and Turner goaled from a good position in front of the net. As the result of a miscalculation on the ■ part of some of the V.M.C.A. players, Wallace tipped the ball into the net much to the surprise of the opposing ' goalkeeper. Turner and Butcher each scored for. Wesley before the final whistle blew. Mr. A. G. Edwards refereed. ' ,
