HUTT AND KARORI
l'layed on a good ground under ideal conditions, the match between Hutt and Karori, on the former team's home ground, was very keenly fought, and the result was in doubt right up to the final whistle. Karori made a great effort towards the close of the game, but they had left it too late, and Hutt took the honours of the day by 2 goals to 1. Towards the end of the first spell, Judd sent a fast, high shot' towards Karon's goal mouth. Their goalkeeper (Moore) made a good save with his hand, but as the ball touched the ground Lusty, who had been following up, drove it into the net. Karori livened up their attacking force in the second half, and a fast run from halfway towards Hutt's goal by M'Gavin gave Robb the chance to carry the ball into the circle and score. Hutt counter-at-tacked-heavily j and gradually beat down the Karori defence. Judd then secured Hutt's second and winning goal with a fine short from a difficult position. Once again Karori rallied, but their efforts were unavailing, for the game closed with the scores reading Hutt 2, Karori 1. Mr. R. J. Lloyd refereed.
